Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy, offers quick and safe relief for a variety of musculoskeletal issues. Even a few minutes of treatment can effectively alleviate pain, improve mobility, and treat inflammation.
Cryotherapy is beneficial for treating joint and muscle pain, sports injuries, migraines, and sciatica pain. Administered by a physiotherapist, a cold therapy session lasts approximately 3 minutes and effectively and safely reduces localized pain, whether in a single session or as a series of treatments.
The treatment is based on a thermal shock that activates the body’s defence system without aggravating the painful area. The skin’s surface tissue is rapidly cooled to 0–4°C without the risk of frostbite or other tissue damage. We use the X°CRYO™ cold therapy device, which is designed and manufactured in Finland.
We welcome both private and occupational health customers to our clinics in Kotka and Hamina, which are centrally located and easily accessible.
